Wisdom Over Foolishness

These questions are designed for you to think on through the week, discuss with a Bible Fellowship or accountability partner, or lead with in family devotions. We hope they help you in your spiritual development.

  1. Define wisdom.
  2. Read Proverbs 2:1–10. Name three ways that wisdom is received.
  3. Read Proverbs 14:17. Why is a quick temper a sign of foolishness? Now read Exodus 34:6 when God is speaking about Himself. Is God quick tempered?
  4. How do fools look upon wisdom? (See Proverbs 1:7.) Think of a time when you went against wise instruction. What was the result?
  5. Read James 1:5. Take time to pray and ask God for wisdom. Ask God to rid your heart of foolish desires and to fill you up with His wisdom

Memory Verse: "The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly." Proverbs 15:2
