Service Over Selfishness

These questions are designed for you to think on through the week, discuss with a Bible Fellowship or accountability partner, or lead with in family devotions. We hope they help you in your spiritual development.

1. Choosing service over selfishness promotes unity with the church. Read James 3:13–18 and discuss the results of your actions within the church.
2. Read Proverbs 23:6–7. What do these verses tell us about selfish people?
3. Read 1 Corinthians 12:4–6. What are your spiritual gifts? How does your service work toward the mission of the church?
4. List three ways in which you can serve others this week.
5. Pray and ask God to search your heart and rid it of any selfish or deceitful ambitions. Ask God to give you a heart of service.
